The other night I had the privilege of attending and helping out at the Stake Father/Daughter activity and what a fun night it was.The theme was Me and My Pop Under the Big Top and it was such a big hit. We had carnival games, face painting, a photo booth and lots of yummy snacks. It was so great getting to see the girls interacting and having so much fun with their dads ,but I will admit that half way through the night it broke a piece of my heart. For the first time in my life I really started to feel as if I have missed out on a truly wonderful and special relationship. The older I get the more I wish I had, had the chance to have similar opportunities with my own father.

Can we have a beautiful sunny day in the 60's and the next day a HUGE snowstorm. It started snowing on Thursday night and by Friday morning we had a foot and then it continued to snow all day and night Friday. By Saturday morning we had two feet of snow!! Sam, Nat, Ben and myself passed the time Friday night by playing Pass the Popcorn. It is such a fun game and we had a great time. Once we dug ourselves out on Saturday we took Joseph and Brad to a birthday party at Pump it Up where they jumped until the could jump no more. While they were at the party Sam, Nat, Ben and myself did a little window shopping over at South glen and the best finds of the day were the crazy camera on the Ipad and the super cozy comfy yellow couch. We rounded out our weekend by watching "Warrior" Saturday night and then having dinner with good friends on Sunday.

Highlight of my Week

So last week was just not my week. I was super busy and stressed out at work, I had a ton of things going on at home that I was falling behind on and then the uncaring dentist I saw said that I needed a root canal. :( I was sooo ready to put this week behind me when I found this sweet letter waiting for me in my mailbox from my niece Naomi. I am so touched by her thoughtfulness and the time and effort she put in to it. She did not know I was having a bad week but this just brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes. I am the luckiest aunt in the world because I have the BEST nieces and nephews. I love them all so so very much!! The letter is a little hard to read but it says:

Things I have made

I would like to say I have been super productive these first few weeks of the new year but these are all products that I did last year. I started the blocks when Dixie was here last September and finally finished them up in early fall. I love the way they all turned out and that I have something cute to put out year round. It isn't a big surprise that the Autumn blocks are my favorite, it is also my favorite season. I made Joseph a new quilt for his birthday and love that I was able to find the fabric that I did. He has really been into Mustangs, Camaro's, etc these past few months and when I stumbled upon this fabric I was thrilled. The best part about his new blanket is that it is the perfect size for us to snuggle together. Yes every so often I can still get my little man to snuggle with me.

Ladybug Girl and the Bug squad

This month the kids read Ladybug Girl and the Bug squad. It is a cute little book about a group of boys and girl's who get together and use their super powers to go on adventures. The kids in Joseph's class all enjoyed it and had so much fun pretending to be superheroes. Once Joseph got home from book club he spent the rest of the day wearing his cape, he even went to bed with it on.

We have had more snow this winter then we did all last year so we have definitely been taking advantage of it. This storm hit just before Christmas so we had my favorite kind of Christmas, a white one. I even got out and played with Joseph for a little bit.

Polar Express Day

On Joseph's last day of school before winter break they had Polar Express day. All the kids got to wear their jammie's and slippers to school, watch the movie, have hot chocolate and candy canes and of course to finish the day their holiday parties. The kids were so excited all day and handled all the excitement very well. For their class party they had yummy snacks, made scarfs, played a relay race where they pretended to be snowmen and their friends had to dress them in all their winter gear, made snowmen decorations and were given goody bags. It was a perfect way to end their first semester, I can't believe that school is already half way over.

Santa Train!!

Day two of our family fun filled weekend we went up to Georgetown to ride the train and see Santa. It was perfect weather outside and a happy atmosphere inside the train. The kids all had fun looking out the window, drinking hot chocolate, eating cookies and candy canes, and getting to tell Santa what they wanted. It is so much fun to watch the kids interact with each other outside of school and build better relationships, especially since they will be in school together for quite some time.

A few weeks ago we went to see Disney on ice at the Pepsi Center. We wanted it to be a surprise for Joseph so we gave him a hint that it started with the letter T and all day long he guessed everything he could possibly think of. His last guess was a tarantula (EEEEEKKKKK!!!) and he was convinced that was it, so when Ben got home and we told him we were going to Toy Story he was pretty disappointed until we arrived at the Pepsi Center. All the performers were really good on their skates but Barbie and Ken stole the show. It was such a fun family activity.

This year we let Joseph decorate our gingerbread house all by himself and he did an AWESOME job! Once dad had it all put together, Joseph immediately went to work loading it up with tons of candy. It is a good thing that dad put extra frosting and reinforcements on the roof to hold up all the candy. It is somewhat hard to tell from the pictures but Joseph put his initials on the roof so that there was no mistaking who it belonged to. :) He had so much fun decorating and I think we may have an architect in our future.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt

Once a month Joseph's class has a book club for all the kids who would like to participate. It is so much fun for the kids to get together outside of school and get to know one another better and it also gives us parents a chance to chat. This month they read We're Going on a Bear Hunt and all the kids liked the book but said they wouldn't want to go except for Joseph who said he would go but he would need bullets and a gun. After they read through the story they put together a storyboard about what happened in the book and then they made bear biscuits. Everything they made turned out super cute and the biscuits were very yummy to eat and super easy to make.

So before the ground was covered with all this cold white stuff , Joseph played his first season of soccer and I coached his team. I am not quite sure what I was thinking seeing as how I had never coached only played and coaching little kids is very interesting. They all want the ball at the same time so you spend bunches of time just getting them to spread out, but once they do they are just so cute running all over the field. Joseph's team was Fire and it was a great team to start with, because some kids had played before others were new and they helped each other out. My favorite part of the season is that the kids all wanted to play, they were happy and were just so excited to be on the field. With it being a local league we were told to not keep score, ya right the kids would keep score for me. I am proud to say that we went undefeated all season, not bad for a newbie coach. Joseph had so much fun and so did I that I think we will do it again.

My two front teeth!!!

Yesterday when Joseph got home from school he said he had another loose tooth. I didn't think much of it since his last one took weeks to come out, but every few minutes Joseph would wiggle it just a little. By bedtime it was crooked and barely hanging on, so I had Joseph smile and I popped it right out. I have never seen a tooth come out so quickly. Joseph is going to have to slow down or the tooth fairy won't be able to keep up. :)

On Friday the 18th while Joseph was at school he lost his first tooth. I was so happy and relieved when he got in the car and told me it had just fallen out while he was drinking from his water bottle. They sent him to the nurse's office and she gave him a little box to put his tooth in, he was showing it off to everyone. When he got home from school Grandpa and Nana were waiting for us and Joseph jumped out of the car and ran to show them his missing tooth. His tooth had been loose for quite some time but he wouldn't let any of us look at it because he was afraid we would just pull it and it would bleed. At times I was tempted to because he wouldn't eat certain foods since it hurt and he would avoid brushing that tooth, but in the end my patience was rewarded as was his. When we asked him how much he thought the tooth fairy should bring and he thought a million dollars was fair.

Grandpa and Nana's Visit

The week before Thanksgiving Grandpa and Nana came from a visit. We were so excited to see them and had a wonderful time with them. Grandpa and Nana arrived on Friday afternoon and as soon as we pulled into the driveway from picking Joseph up he jumped from the truck to go show Grandpa and Nana his missing tooth. That night we laid low and watched Mary Poppins and had a yummy dinner. Then on Saturday the boys went shooting, bowling, played games and had a camera war, while us ladies went and shopped till we dropped. We started at Aspen Grove, Ikea and then on to Park Meadows, it was so much fun and we all found some good deals on really cute things. On Sunday we went to our old ward for a missionary homecoming and then back to our home ward for some more uplifting lesson's, following church we had Andi and Brad over for dinner and games. It was wonderful getting to catch up and the boys had fun playing Candy Land with Nana. We were sad to have Grandpa and Nana leave on Monday because the weekend just went to fast, but we will see them soon. We love you guys so much!!

Littleton Farm and Museum

Yesterday I had the privilege of going with Joseph and his class on their field trip to the Littleton Farm and Museum. It was a little funny going for a field trip since I used to take Joseph here for playgroup, but this time he took a little more time to look at things and listen since he was with his friends. The kids had a wonderful time exploring all the buildings and watching the blacksmith. The blacksmith let all the kids check the metal he was working on to see if it was hot and then he gave them coal to take back to school and see what was inside. It was a little windy and chilly but at least it wasn't snowing. I am so grateful that I am able to do these fun things with Joseph.

Snow Day Fun!!

The other day Joseph had his first snow day from school since BFA is technically in a Douglas County school and they have lots of snow days. While most kids are thrilled to have a day off of school he was so upset. He loves going to school and learning new things, I hope that love for learning continues. As the snow tapered off I was able to talk him into going outside to play and break in his new boots, yes he already outgrew the ones he had last year. He had a wonderful time playing with his pups and and throwing snowballs at mom. When he came inside I had a nice warm cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows waiting for him and he was just over the moon about that.

Happy Halloween

We had such a fun time celebrating Halloween this year. On Friday Joseph's school had a costume parade and a Harvest Festival. I wasn't able to get any pictures of the ninja at school because every time I pulled out my camera he went into stealth mode. :) The school had so many fun things to do at the festival like hay rides, face painting, pizza, cake walk, carnival games, etc...

Then on Monday night we went over to the church for our ward's Trunk 'R Treat with Sam, Nat, Brad and Maddie. The kids had so much fun getting candy and before it was over their buckets were overflowing. On our way home we stopped by a friend's house to see their yard and it was impressive!!( Sorry I didn't get any pics of it.) They had fog, dry ice, jumping spiders, mummies, a cemetary, etc.. and handing out candy was the Joker.

Mazzotti Farms

Last week Joseph was on fall break from school and we decided to take advantage of the season and go to a pumpkin patch. We went with some of the other kids from Joseph's class up to Mazzotti Farms. They did a short educational part for the kids on the different kinds of pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn before they let the kids loose to pick out their own corn, gourd and pumpkins. Then they were able to go through the corn maze, down the slide a bunch of times and pet the animals. The kids all had a blast playing together and it was fun for me to get to know some of the parents better.

It is hard to imagine that on September 26th my baby turned six. Every time I look at him all I see is my little boy but then he reminds me that no he is a big boy and he is growing up. I am so proud of Joseph, he is such a wonderful, sweet and loving boy. He is always willing to jump right in and help, he loves everyone and wants to make everyone happy, he is a clown and always making me laugh. I don't know where he comes up with some of the things he says but they sure are funny. On Joseph's birthday we celebrated by having dinner at home with Uncle Collin and opening presents. The other day we were just talking about some of Joseph's favorite things right now and here is what he said.

This year to celebrate Joseph's birthday we had a little party with a few of his friends. He wanted to have a Hot Wheels theme so I found some fun games to do with cars and thanks to Party City some really fun decorations. Joseph had originally requested a Mustang car cake and I was intimidated at the thought of having to put that together but he changed his mind to just having a red one with roads that crossed and cars on top and I was happy to oblige. When the boys arrived they played on the trampoline before we started our games. The first game we did was pin the car on the race track and all the boys made it on the track at about the same point, I guess they were all the same height. Then we moved on to a racing game I had found online using match box cars with those party blowers. The boys had so much fun blowing them across the kitchen and they looked so cute wiggling on their bellies. Our last activity was the Pinata which I was hoping it would take them a little while to break but they had it open in minutes and boy did they move fast to grab that candy once it was everywhere.

A few weeks ago we headed over to Utah for Eric and Sheena's wedding but while we were in town we had time to see some family, have some new family pictures taken and had the most amazing experience at the Salt Lake Temple. Our first night in town we went to the Salt Lake Temple to take out Bill's endowment's, have my parents sealed and me sealed to them. It was mine and Ben's first time in the Salt Lake Temple and it was so beautiful, amazing and peaceful. I am so glad that we picked that Temple to do Bill's work because we were able to be with family and share in such a wonderful experience. Over the next few days we ate yummy food, watched a ton of great movies, shopped and enjoyed being with one another.

A few weeks ago Ben was given some tickets to the Rockies game and so on a perfect Saturday afternoon we all headed down to Coors Field for Joseph's first baseball game. We had awesome seats right on the third baseline only a few rows back, the sun on our backs and a breeze blowing through our hair. Joseph loved every minute of the game even though I don't think he watched much of the game because he was to busy enjoying his snacks. It was a perfect family outting but I did get a little teary over the fact that

Millions of Peaches and Pears

Well maybe not a million. I have never ever canned in my life and this year I thought that I would give it a try. I was so nervous and intimidated about the whole process but it went much easier then I expected. I found as I was doing it that it was really more of a tedious process then a hard one, especially all the peeling and cutting. Since it went so well this year and I really enjoyed doing it and Ben loves having all the fruit I will definitely be doing it again next year. Besides being yummy it also adds great decoration to my kitchen.

On Labor Day weekend we were lucky to have Zach, Dixie, Mel, Sterling, Jenny, Chance, Chandler and Lexi come for a visit. We had a great time seeing the sights, playing racing games, working on a cute craft, going to Les Miserables, playing golf, going to the zoo and being with one another. The first day Zach and Dixie were here we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch so that Zach could see why we all rave about it and he wasn't disappointed. Later that day we all went up to Red Rocks, but it was so windy we didn't stay long.

On Friday Zach, Dixie, Mel, Ben and myself went on a sight seeing tour of Denver. We drove by Ben and Dixie's old house, the Molly Brown house and lots of other cool buildings downtown. While we were downtown we stopped and had lunch at Ben's favorite hot dog stand and it was delicious.

Later Friday after all of us girl's were done getting ready we went back downtown to see Les Miserables. It was so much fun going in a big group and the show was incredible. It was my first time seeing it and now I understand why everyone loves it so much. The story is powerful and moving and the music brings tears to your eyes. I am so glad that I was able to share this experience with such a wonderful group of people.

On Tuesday Joseph started Kindergarten and let's just say there was lots of Boohooing from his mom. I was excited for him to begin this new adventure but I missed him terribly and was so excited when it was time to pick him up. He had a wonderful time and couldn't wait to tell me all about his day and the fun things they had done. His favorite was that they got to take pictures of themselves on the computer and play around with them. His teacher is Ms. Klee and she is full of energy, happy and perfect for kindergartners.

Steel Creek Campground

While in Idaho we had our annual family camping trip and it was great. The weather was perfect and the company divine. There had been reports of bears on the next mountain over so we had to be extra careful but we had the perfect bear repellent. A very large, cute group of noisy happy children that kept us safe. :)My water man.

Families are Forever

I have to say the best part about our trip to Idaho other then seeing family was going through the temple with Sam and Natalie. For the first time ever the whole family got to be together in the temple and words cannot describe how amazing it truly was. It was a truly perfect day outside and the Rexburg temple is absolutely gorgeous inside, if you are ever in Idaho and have a chance to go take it. I am so thankful to be a member of this church and to know that I will get to be with my wonderful amazing family forever. I love you all so much and count my blessings everyday that I get to call you all family, I don't know what I would do with out each and everyone of you.

Rock Solid

While in Idaho the boys were in the mood for a little adventure and Ben talked me into coming along. I was just going to sit and watch but once Heidi went up I had to try also and I did enjoy myself but my heart was pounding the whole time especially since I am TERRIFIED of heights. It felt good to conquer my fear but I have no desire to do it again. The boys of course climbed up the mountain like it was nothing, but us girl's gave them a run for their money. Stephen did an awesome job and Joseph, Luke and Shelby also had to give it a try and help with the ropes.

24th of July Parade

We were lucky enough to be in Idaho for the parade and what fun we had. I just love this parade they have the best floats, we always have GREAT seats (Thanks Jane & Jocie) and they give away chocolate milk. Since Grandpa is the Sheriff all grand kids that were in town were able to ride in his truck and throw candy.

This year I was given the wonderful opportunity of being able to attend Girl's camp with the most wonderful bunch of first year's EVER!! I was a little intimidated at first seeing as how I haven't been to camp since I was a young women but my girl's made me feel right at home. We had the true first time camping experience with holes in the tent, raining all night, hail, all of our things soaking wet, bug bites, etc.. but through it all the girl's kept right on smiling and going with the flow. I am so impressed with the faith the girl's have and I only wish that all youth could be as strong as the youth of the church.

I know I am a little late in posting this but I figure if I do it before the end of the month I am still good right? We spent a nice 4th of July at home eating good food, throwing poppers on the ground and playing board games. I actually beat Ben at Monopoly, I was so excited since I never ever beat him at anything.

On June 29th Ben and I celebrated our 9th anniversary. The time has just flown by, it feels like only yesterday that we were the young dating couple in the first picture. :)

We celebrated by going out to dinner at Old Chicago's and then we went to see Transformer's 3.

I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man. He work's so hard and does so much for our family and he is a wonderful father to Joseph.

I am so glad that I get to spend eternity with my best friend and soul mate. I couldn't imagine going through life with anyone else by my side.

We were so lucky that we were able to spend Father's Day weekend with Sam, Nat, Brad and Maddie. We had non stop fun and did a whole bunch of activities and we can't until they come back again, two days was not long enough. Friday night after everyone had a little rest we went swimming and it was a BIG hit all the way around. Joseph and Brad enjoyed playing catch and floating in the water and Maddie was happy splashing and looking at all the new sights. Saturday was filled with:

Father and Sons Campout

This past weekend was our ward's annual Father and Son camp out and Ben and Joseph were able to go. I am so grateful that Joseph has such a wonderful dad who enjoys doing these kinds of things with him. Joseph was so excited to go but since we only go camping in Idaho he was convinced that they was where him and dad were going and it took lots of explaining for him to understand that they were staying in Colorado. He was a little sad at first but once they got up there and he saw all of friends he was good to go and ready for the fun to begin.

These two sure know how to have fun. They climbed rocks, had stick wars and a pine cone fight.

Joseph's favorite things about the camp out were: Getting to have brown licorice, soda, two marshmallows, smores and root beer floats and coming home with battle scars. He came home with three scratches and a burn on his arm from a hot griddle and he couldn't have been happier about it. I love that Ben and Joseph had the chance to do this and I am sure they are looking forward to next year's adventure.

Earlier this month Riley and Shelley invited us to go with them to the Touch-A-Truck event in Colorado Springs and what a fun time we had. They had every truck imagineable available for kids to climb in and out of and of course honk the horns. It was every boys dream. :)

At the beginning of May Joseph's school had their annual art show and it was a big hit, the kids had been preparing for it all year. I was bummed that I wasn't able to go since I was home sick but Joseph had fun showing Daddy all his stuff and Ben took lots of pictures for me.

Today was Joseph's graduation from Mother Goose pre-school. He has had so much fun with his friends from church and learning new things. We had a little celebration this morning for all the graduates Joseph, Xander, Shelby, Bella, Riley and Owen who couldn't make it. It was a fun year and everyone is very excited for the summer. Joseph is looking forward to all the new adventures he will have next year in Kindergarten.

On Saturday it was the year anniversary of my dad's passing and most of the day I felt as if I was living in a dream. So often I feel as if it has just happened but then I am reminded of all the firsts we have had without him and my heart sinks just a little. I was thinking of Bill the other day and remembering some things that I miss being able to do with him. My favorites are: Playing Basketball when I would come home from school, playing cards as a family, sitting on the deck reading, talking and laughing and watching Joseph play with Papa.

If tomorrow starts without me:

When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see if the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me. I wish so much if you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you and each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me to. But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready in Heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye, for all my life I'd always thought I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while. I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized, that this could never be, for emptiness and memories would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow. I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through Heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, from his great golden throne, he said this is eternity and all I've promised you. Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last and since each day's the same way there's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free. So won't you come and take my hand and share my life with me? So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart. For every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

We had such a wonderful Easter. We were able to listen to some amazing talks in Sacrament meeting and then I had the opportunity to teach the Sunbeams why Easter is so important. I had so much fun teaching them and they are such good kids. After church we went to my Uncle's in Westminster for another Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner and boy was it yummy!!

One of the days we were in Florida we decided to take a little break from Mickey and go see the rockets. It was so interesting being able to see the rockets and launch pads up close, well as close as they let you get. :) The bus tour we took gave us the opportunity to see some movies, mission control, the Saturn 5 rocket, moon rocks, space suits through the ages and many more interesting things. It was a special day for Joseph because he met meeting my dad for the first time and it went well. These pictures don't do justice in showing how big these rockets really are.

On our way home from Minnesota we took a little detour and stopped to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. I was super excited since this was my first time seeing Mt. Rushmore in person and while the heads are big, they aren't as big as you think they are going to be. It was such an incredible feeling to be surrounded by all that history and to remember what these men stood for and founded our country on. It wasn't the warmest of days but once we were inside the park the wind died down enough that we could enjoy looking around. Unfortunately we were unable to see Crazy Horse since this huge wall of fog had settled over the mountain and all you could see for miles was gray.

While we were in Minnesota a few weeks ago our trip wasn't complete until we had made a trip to the Mall of America. We spent all day at the mall and the girls still didn't see every store and the boys didn't get to ride every ride, that is how HUGE the mall is. When you first walk in it is just so overwhelming between the people and the stores you don't even know where to start, but luckily Joseph and Brad were there to help guide us to Lego land!

A few weeks ago Joseph had his cousin Brad come over for a sleepover and Joseph was so excited about it that he got his room all ready. Last weekend Ben took Joseph to Monster Jam and it was a hit! When Ben first told Joseph about it he wasn't so sure, but when Saturday arrived Joseph couldn't get out of the house fast enough to see the trucks. We had a nice Valentine's Day at our place and Joseph had bunches of fun. He got to have two school parties and his favorite part was handing out his Valentine's to all of his friends. We also celebrated by making Valentine's for cousins and baking sugar cookies. On Valentine's morning Joseph woke up to one of those Love em with Bug em's and he turned to me and said someone loves me!! Silly boy of course we do. Joseph also decided that we needed to pick up flowers for Grandma so I took him to the store and he picked out these beautiful peach roses for her.

The other day as I was folding laundry Joseph was looking for something to do and out of nowhere he asked if he could help fold the clothes. I was surprised but instantly replied YES! Then he asked if I would show him how to and once again I said YES!

He folded the clothes so fast I couldn't keep up with him and once he had finished with his clothes I thought he would lose interest and move on but he looked at me and said mom I can fold adult shirts to!

I love my little man and he is such a big help to me.

When I was growing up every summer my brother and I would spend a few weeks with our grandparents and one of our favorite things to do was to help our grandma make "spaceships" or Abelskivers. Well over Christmas break Joseph had the opportunity to start this same tradition with my mom. They had so much fun together in the kitchen and Joseph loved putting in a secret ingredient that Ben and I had to guess, it was chocolate chips yummy!

I am not sure how we went this long without doing this activity but this past week we took Joseph sledding for the very first time and he LOVED it!! We were trying to find a hill that was big enough to go quick but not so big that it would be scary. We lucked out and found the perfect hill behind the church. It was just long enough that you could get enough speed to go across the parking lot, go over bumps and be able to climb back up without being to tired. I thought Joseph would be cold after a few times and want to come home but he stayed out there for over and hour loving every minute of it. We will have to do it again when we get some more snow, there wasn't enough cushion for me, my bottom was sore the next day.

A few weeks ago we finally got a snowstorm that produced enough snow to last for more then a few hours. Joseph was so excited to see the snow that as soon as there was some covering the ground he put on all of his gear and went out to play. Last week at Joseph's school they put on a wonderful Christmas program for all the parents and all of the kids did such a great job. They have been practicing for this all year and it really showed, Joseph has been walking around the house for weeks singing and then the other day he asked me how to snap so he could do it for one of the songs. All the kids looked so cute all dressed up. After the kids had finished singing they got a surprise visit from Santa that was so exciting they all lined up at once to see him.

I feel like I have had a whole in my chest for the last week.It has been just over six months since Bill passed away and the other day I was upstairs getting something and I found myself wanting to go in and talk with Bill when I hit me like a ton of bricks that he wasn't there and all of sudden it feels as if my grieving has started all over again. Ever since that moment I find myself having more of those moments. I had one the other morning at Joseph's Christmas program while listening to Joseph sing and thinking Bill would have loved watching Joseph or we have had NO snow all winter here and all I can think is Bill would love this winter because he hated the snow.

I don't know if it is the season and all the focus on family and being with our loved ones that has brought all this about but I sure do miss him and I am not the only one. The other day Joseph asked me if he would be an adult when Papa comes back from heaven and all I could do was give him a hug. I know I should have answered his question but it's not the first time he has asked and I couldn't bring myself to tell him that Papa isn't coming back.

I am thankful for my Heavenly Father who can soothe my aching soul when I need it the most.

A few weeks ago in our house for family home evening we read a story out of the friend about a family who was in a very serious car accident on their way home from Thanksgiving dinner but luckily everyone was ok. Well when they finally arrived home that night they were all so shaken up that they sat down to have what their son called a second Thanksgiving and talk about what they were thankful for. We made a family challenge that night that every night until Christmas we would say what we are thankful for and put a quarter in our thankful jar. It has been such a good experience for me to really think of and count all of the wonderful blessing's that I have in my life and to hear Joseph say what he is thankful for. I know that life can be challenging and that at times it is hard to see how blessed we are but if we stop and think about it for just a moment our blessings add up faster then our trails.

With today being Thanksgiving I have been thinking about what I am thankful for and here are a few of them. :

- I am thankful for our Savior Jesus Christ
- I am thankful for the Scriptures and Church
- I am thankful for the knowledge and peace the gospel brings into my life.
- I am thankful to know that while Bill couldn't be here with us today that he was with his family in Heaven.
- I am thankful for my wonderful and amazing husband. He puts up with so much from me and does everything that he can to make me happy. I don't deserve half the stuff he does for me.
- I am thankful for my mom. She is such an incredible woman and does so much for our family.
- I am thankful for Joseph and for the opportunity he gives me to be a mom. Some days he makes me want to pull my hair out but then he turns around and gives me a great big hug and kiss and in those moments I know that it is all worth it.
- I am thankful for my In-Laws they are the best people in the whole wide world. From the moment I first met them they welcomed me with open arms and loving smiles.
- I am thankful for my "Sisters". They are always there with a hug, a caring word, good conversation and they make me laugh.
- I am thankful for my brother. He is such a goof ball.
- I am thankful for all of my extended family they are so amazing in so many different ways.
- I am thankful for the gifts and talents that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with.
- I am thankful that Ben has a good job and that we have a nice warm home.
- I am thankful for my friends who do so much and are there for me in the good and bad times.

I can't believe it is that time of year again already, it feels like only yesterday I was doing last year's Christmas shopping. I love everything about this time of year the smells, the colors, the sounds, gathering with family, baking with my mom and celebrating the birth of our Savior. Joseph is at such a fun stage where he just can't wait to celebrate all the holidays. Well the day after Halloween he started asking me how many days till Christmas mom? I would answer and then twenty minutes later he would ask again, so the other day I thought that if we made a paper chain it would him to see how many days until Christmas. It has worked beautifully the past few days and every morning he takes a chain off and informs me that we are one more day closer to Santa coming. Bring on the magic of Christmas. :)

Hana and Boo

In July we decided it was time for a puppy and after lots of research we picked the Shiba Inu to be our new puppy. It is a Japanese dog with a similar appearance to an Akita but much smaller. Well since they aren't the most common dog to find we had to go through a breeder to get them. We have been patiently waiting for the pups to be born and then be old enough to leave their mama. Yesterday they turned eight weeks and were able to leave mama so we took a little mini trip out to Ft. Morgan to pick them up and bring them home. We were only planning on bringing one home, but when we saw them we just couldn't bear to separate sisters. They are such good puppies and lots of fun to play with, sometimes I forget they are in the house since they are so quiet. Joseph is loving playing with the girls in the backyard, there favorite game right now is tag. Of course the girls have an unfair advantage they tag team Joseph from each side.

In a galaxy far far away.

This week has been full of Halloween activities. It started with a Halloween playgroup at Stephanie's house with tons of fun things to do with all his friends. Then on Friday Joseph had a party at school with a magician. I was a little disappointed with the school party, because other then the magician they had nothing else for the kids to do. Then tonight was our ward's Trunk R Treat and that was entertaining to see all the kids and their costumes, but it was a little windy so once Joseph's candy bucket was overflowing we came home.

The other day we carved pumpkins and Joseph was very eager to help as long as he didn't have to help with the gutting of the pumpkins. So once the pumpkins were gutted we picked out our scary designs and went to work. Joseph had so much fun poking holes in the pumpkin and helping daddy carve.

For the past few months Joseph has been asking when are we going to go bowling, so for his birthday we took him to Fun City and went bowling and then went downstairs to play Skeeball. We all had so much fun and Joseph is quite the bowler, he has natural talent just like his mom. :) The whole time we were bowling all Joseph wanted to get was a strike and he did it all by himself, he was so proud!!

Well it's official I no longer have a toddler, Joseph has become a little boy. On Sunday Joseph turned five and we had a small family celebration at home. We had a nice dinner, good company, yummy cake and of course PRESENTS!! We love Joseph so much and he is becoming such a wonderful little person. Some of our favorite things about Joseph are:

1. He is so funny

2. He has a tender heart like his mom

3. He has a love for cars like his dad

4. He is so sweet and loving

Family Reunion!!!

This past weekend we went to Idaho for the Haeberle family reunion. It was the best three days with our family. We played games, went down the HUGE slide, watched slide shows, chased salt water taffy raining down from the sky, made jewelry, had our faces painted, the kids had craft time and we laughed until we cried, especially those of us in the kitchen on Sunday night. :)

Last weekend we made our annual trip to Idaho for the family camp out. We had so much fun being with our family. Some of the highlights were:

- Being with family
- Dancing on the Stage
- Playing in the Creek
- Dad's pancakes for breakfast
- Going for a bike ride
- Finding a HUGE mushroom
- Riding around in the Razor!!
- Playing with cousins
- Healthy family competition in a game of Ladder Golf
- Getting rained on (The picture of the sky is what the clouds looked like just before it dumped)
- Sitting around the campfire
- Roasting marshmallows
- Otter pops
- Lots and lots of laughing

We can't wait until next year.

8th Anniversary

On June 29 this year Ben and I celebrated our eight wedding anniversary, can you believe it?? For our anniversary Ben and I left the city for a few days and went down to The Cliff House in Manitou Springs to play. On our first night we had dinner at a local place, did a little window shopping and then decided to go up to the Cave of the Winds and take a tour. The tour we took was their Eco friendly one and they turn off all the lights inside the cave and you go through with just a flashlight. It was interesting to see a different perspective of the cave and since there was only one other couple with us, our tour guide was extra funny.

On Saturday morning since it was cool we took a beautiful drive up the Pikes Peak highway to the top of the mountain. It is a beautiful drive and when you reach the top it is so worth it and your view just goes on for miles and miles. Once back in town we enjoyed some pizza at Marilyn's Place and then we were off to go hike the seven falls just as it started raining so we drove through the Garden of the Gods instead. It was interesting to see all the different rock formations.

We had plans to have dinner Saturday night at The Cliff House dinning room but we were pretty tuckered out so we opted for room service and it was wonderful. It is always fun to be waited on, eat in bed, have someone else clean up the mess and the food was amazing. We returned home on Sunday relaxed, refreshed and ready for the next exciting adventure.

It has been a wonderful eight years and I wouldn't want anyone else by my side. While we have had our ups and downs like everybody else there is no one else I could imagine going through all of it with and I know that we can overcome anything that comes our way. I Love You Ben!!

On June 5 Annie was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a special day and while I know that Annie was a little nervous she hid it very well. Ben and I along with lots of other family members were able to share in her special day. Annie had called me way back in May and asked if I would speak at her baptism. I was a little nervous since I had never spoken at a baptism but more then happy to do it for Annie.

I wish I could say that I held it together and made it all the way through my talk without crying but that was not the case. When I looked into Annie's smiling face all I could see was this beautiful girl making such a good decision and the tears freely came streaming down my cheeks. I am so proud of Annie!!

While in Idaho we had many adventures with Aimee and the kids and our first one was to the science center. The kids had sooo much fun exploring and learning new things. It is also a fun place for adults. I admit I got stuck trying to figure out how this one puzzle worked and it drove me nuts until I finally figured it out.

God saw he was getting tired, And a cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around him, And whispered, "Come with me."

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away.

Although we loved him dearly, We could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, He is now at peaceful rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

After seven long years of battling cancer and overcoming the odds more then once Bill returned to our Father in Heaven on May 7, 2010. While we will miss having him in our home and hearing his laugh, we are glad to know that he is no longer suffering. He is a wonderful Husband, Father, Step dad, Father In-Law, Brother, Papa, Uncle and Friend. We Love you so much and miss you.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now; he set me free.

A few weeks ago Joseph was pretending to be a superhero but in order for him to do that he had to be wearing my boots and carrying his sword. It was so funny to listen to him clomping around the house and yelling at the bad guys.

A few weeks ago we attended the Arvada Kite Festival. It was so much fun, we had a nice family day playing baseball, flying kites, looking at all the cool kites, soaking up the sunshine and eating lots of yummy yummy food.

This year for my birthday my wonderful friend Marianne decided to throw me a party. She did such a great job decorating, making the most delicious cake's and other treats and she planned some fun games. It was a really fun evening and I loved being able to celebrate with my friends.

So about a month ago I got a calling that I was pretty sure I would never get and one I didn't really want at first, it pulled me way out of my comfort zone. It was to be the Young Women's basketball coach. I will admit I laughed really hard when they extended me this calling and I told the second counselor that he had the wrong girl seeing as how I knew absolutely NOTHING about the game, but I accepted the challenge.

As the season began I was nervous, awkward and really hung back and just let the other coaches work with the girls, but after a few practices and games I began to find my comfort level and really started to enjoy my calling. Well our season has come to an end and I am really going to miss the time I have spent with these girls.

These young women are truly amazing and have taught me so much about teamwork, perseverance and friendship. They go out there and play with all they have got, they give every teammate a chance to have the ball and shoot, they encourage each other, they play injured and they have fun while doing it. I am truly going to miss getting the chance to spend Saturdays with them and I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given to step outside my comfort zone and try something new.
