Well I am learing very quickly that Joseph and Ben are more like each other then I thought. When ever Ben gets sick it's never a simple cold or flu there is always more to it. Well a few weeks ago Joseph got a cold, which turned into croup and an ear infection.
So just as we were getting that under control with antibiotics Joseph developed this terrible rash from head to toe, so Ben and I immediately started researching possible explanations. Just when we think we have it figured out ( we assumed it was an allergic reaction to amoxicillion) we couldn't be more wrong.
It turns out that the rash is from an infection that he still has. So the doctor has given us a new round of different antibiotics and we are hoping this works, because if not he has to go in and have more blood work on Wednesday.
Joseph has been so brave and good natured through this whole experience, which breaks our hearts because we know that he is in lots of pain and there is nothing we can do. He has been trying really hard not to scratch and Ben and I are seriously considering tapping mittens to his hands but we haven't yet.
If you have any suggestions on how to help relieve his pain we would love to hear them. We have tried Benadryl, Oatmeal Baths, Hydrocordizone cream, Calamine lotion, etc.... and so far nothing has helped.
Joseph sleeping just after we found out he was sick the first time.
Joseph's back today and the rash goes all the way down.
Joseph's Stomach, hands, and arms today and it also runs down the rest of his front.

Looks like the measels to me! Hope the little guy feels better soon.
Oh, poor Joseph! Please tell him we love him and hope he feels better soon. And poor Mom and Dad too! We love you.
I feel terrible for the little fellow. We'll try to remember him in our prayers. I certainly hope his name has nothing to do with it, but our oldest child is a male named Joseph who caught everything that ever came along and was often hospitalized for one thing or another. Surely it won't be that way for your Joseph. On the bright side, our little Joseph grew up to be as close to a perfect young man as any I've ever met.
There is nothing worse than having a sick baby, and knowing there is nothing you can do to help. I hope he gets better soon.
Poor little man! We'll cross our fingers and toes that you find an answer...FAST! Love to you all.
Poor little Joseph! You know, I wonder if it's Rosella (aka Roseola). Lucy had that last year and I thought she had the chicken pox! Hope you all can get some rest soon. Let us know what you find out! Hang in there.
Poor guy! Hopefully it starts clearing soon!!
