My Poor Little Angel

Well I am learing very quickly that Joseph and Ben are more like each other then I thought. When ever Ben gets sick it's never a simple cold or flu there is always more to it. Well a few weeks ago Joseph got a cold, which turned into croup and an ear infection.

So just as we were getting that under control with antibiotics Joseph developed this terrible rash from head to toe, so Ben and I immediately started researching possible explanations. Just when we think we have it figured out ( we assumed it was an allergic reaction to amoxicillion) we couldn't be more wrong.

It turns out that the rash is from an infection that he still has. So the doctor has given us a new round of different antibiotics and we are hoping this works, because if not he has to go in and have more blood work on Wednesday.

Joseph has been so brave and good natured through this whole experience, which breaks our hearts because we know that he is in lots of pain and there is nothing we can do. He has been trying really hard not to scratch and Ben and I are seriously considering tapping mittens to his hands but we haven't yet.

If you have any suggestions on how to help relieve his pain we would love to hear them. We have tried Benadryl, Oatmeal Baths, Hydrocordizone cream, Calamine lotion, etc.... and so far nothing has helped.

Joseph sleeping just after we found out he was sick the first time.

Joseph's back today and the rash goes all the way down.

Joseph's Stomach, hands, and arms today and it also runs down the rest of his front.

Merry Christmas

We have had an exciting Christmas week. For Christmas Eve we had dinner with friends and family, while all the adults enjoyed catching up Joseph's highlight of the evening was sliding down the stairs and waiting to come home so he could go to sleep and Santa would come.

For the first time since Ben and I have been married I actually slept on Christmas Eve, not for very long mind you but a little while. On Christmas morning I went and woke up Joseph, yeah I was up before my 3yr old and then we all opened our presents.

Joseph has such a good time, but once he opened the ones he really wanted it took some coaxing to get him to open the rest.

Joseph and his new Plasma Car.
Uncle Collin and Joseph reading some new books
Joseph and Daddy playing with Joseph's new tools.
Joseph playing with his trains. This was his favorite present.
Mama sporting her new apron, that she got from the sweetest little girls. Luv ya Savannah and Lucy
Joseph enjoying his books from Great Grandpa and Great Aunt Elaine and Mary
Daddy enjoying his new camo pj's

We hope that our friends and family all had a very Merry Christmas and we wish you all the very best. We miss you and love you all.

Winter Wonderland

So the other day we FINALLY!!! got a snow storm that actually accumulated on the ground and we could play in YEAH! So Ben and I thought we should introduce Joseph to the joy of playing in the snow.

As we were preparing to go outside, Joseph did not enjoy being stuffed into his snowsuit and kept telling me to take it off, but of course I am trying to convince him it's going to be so much fun once we are playing and he gave me this Whatever look.

When we did get him outside he LOVED IT!!

Here's a picture of our "backyard"

The Nativity

A few months ago Ben was asked to participate in the Littleon Stake Nativity program and has been practicing for the last month.

Well last weekend was the performance and they did a wonderful job. The choir did a beautiful job and the actors were great as well.

It was such a neat experience for Ben to participate in and it was wonderful to watch. The feeling in the room all weekend was amazing, it was a mixture of comfort, peace, joy and the spirit was so very overwhelming. It really made you stop and think about what's really important this time of year and appreciate all that our Savior did for us.

It was great to be able to take time out of our busy lives and truly enjoy this season of giving. We wish you all could have been there to enjoy it with us.
